ZERO Energy DAO

The tokenisation protocol that gives blockchain technology an ecological purpose

ZERO Energy is the first decentralised protocol that turns real renewable energy into traceable digital assets: 1 verified MWh = 1 ZERO REC.

That verification has a name of its own: Proof of Energy (PoE). It is the model through which physical energy production becomes a verifiable on-chain activity: production is measured, checked to be authentic, eligible and not counted twice, and only then recorded and issued as ZERO REC. It is not a consensus mechanism, which is Base’s job: it is the layer that connects real energy to the blockchain.

It is governed by a DAO: strategic decisions and protocol parameters are put to a community vote through the ZERO DAO token.

Until the DAO is fully decentralised, the project is driven by a transitional Governance Committee: a board of members —with a Chief Executive and a Secretary— and seven Treasurers who safeguard the funds under a multisig scheme. It meets at least weekly and decides by simple majority, one vote per member.
